Olaf Bongwald Joins AAM as President Driveline – Europe
American Axle & Manufacturing (AAM) has named Olaf Bongwald President AAM Driveline – Europe. In this role, Bongwald will lead AAM’s European driveline business, succeeding Michael J. Bly who has been appointed AAM’s global sales lead for the Driveline Business Unit. In addition to his leadership of the European driveline business, Bongwald will also be responsible for profitably growing and globalizing AAM’s electric drive and hybrid drive business.

Michael J. Bly named Vice President of Sales for AAM’s Driveline Business Unit
American Axle & Manufacturing (AAM) has named Michael J. Bly Vice President Sales – Driveline. In this role, Bly will oversee all global commercial activities for AAM’s Driveline Business Unit.

Dr Harald Ludanek, Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles, takes early retirement
According to Auto-Medienportal.net, Prof. Dr Harald Ludanek, so far Member of the Board, Technical Development, Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles, takes early retirement at his own request.
His role will be temporary taken over by Axel Sanders additionally to his responsibilities as Head of Commercial Vehicle Concepts, Simulation and Product Management.
Steven Armstrong appointed Group Vice President and President of Europe, Middle East and Africa, Ford Motor Company
Steven Armstrong is group vice president and president of Europe, Middle East and Africa, Ford Motor Company, effective June 1, 2017. In this role, he is responsible for leading Ford’s European and Middle East and Africa business units, executing the One Ford plan to achieve profitable growth through an unprecedented focus on new products, a strong brand and increased cost efficiency. He reports to Jim Farley, Ford executive vice president and president, Global Markets. Sherif Marakby appointed Vice President of Autonomous Vehicles and Electrification, Ford Motor Company
Sherif Marakby is vice president of Autonomous Vehicles and Electrification, Ford Motor Company, effective June 12, 2017. He reports to Jim Farley, Ford executive vice president and president, Global Markets. Marakby joined Ford Motor Company in 1990 and served in a variety of positions in Product Development throughout North America and Europe. His roles ranged from having full responsibility of regional vehicles’ powertrain and lineup to his role as the vehicle line director of all c-size cars globally, including Ford Escape, Focus and C-MAX. Marakby also worked in Plant Vehicle teams for several years, delivering significant quality and financial improvement to the business at two vehicle-manufacturing plants. Continue reading
FEV Group Reinforces its Operations in Europe, South America, and Asia
Dr. Ernst Scheid (l.) has assumed the chairmanship of the executive board of the newly-founded FEV Asia GmbH.
Dr. Michael Wilhelm has been appointed executive vice president.
Dr. Jens Ludmann (l.) has been named chairman of the executive board at FEV GmbH. Dr. Norbert Alt, vice president business region Europe & South America, has become a new member of the board.
FEV has restructured the global management of its subsidiaries and continues to strengthen the structure of its local sales organizations in Asia, Europe and South America.
The company’s Asian market business will be reorganized under a newly founded company, FEV Asia GmbH, to which all Asian FEV subsidiaries will report. As part of this new Asian business structure, Dr. Ernst Scheid becomes chairman of the executive board and Dr. Michael Wilhelm has been appointed executive vice president.
