Barloworld CVT Technologies
POBox 44946
Linden 2104
South Africa
www.barloworld-cvt.com
Barloworld CVT Technologies is a subsidiary of the multinational Barloworld Group with head office in South Africa. Barloworld CVT Technologies, which was established in 2002, can be described as a knowledge company generating intellectual property in the CVT (Continuously Variable Transmission) field. It is within the company’s business model to invent and patent new positive drive CVT concept and only to build limited prototypes to prove the concepts. Thereafter the technology is licensed to interested parties. Therefore the company does not venture into the production of transmissions or the development of production prototypes.
The company has successfully developed and tested two unique CVT concepts namely the Naudic iCVT (incremental Continuously Variable Transmission) and rotorCVT, which are currently being marketed. Patents are pending in 13 international countries. The iCVT is a world first positive drive CVT that always maintains a purely mechanical positive drive, even when shifting under load through its 64 ratios, which have been successfully prototype tested. A launching device is only used when pulling away.
Applications for the company’s products range from micro cars to large highway trucks and any other device that requires a variable ratio transmission.
The 6th CTI Transmission Symposium, Berlin, December 2007 will be attended by the inventor and managing director of Barloworld CVT Technologies, Dr. Jan Naude and Richard Michelson who is in charge of marketing.

Today, 150 million sensors, designed and produced by Electricfil Automotive, equip vehicles worldwide, placing the company as an industry leader.
Shift your transmissions into high gear
Sensors are key components in today’s electronic transmission control systems. They offer new ways to achieve bold objectives in terms of fuel consumption, driving comfort, engine emissions and performance.
But the road is rough. Transmission sensors must stand up to corrosive oils at high temperatures, not to mention vibrations and electromagnetic interference.
At Electricfil Automotive, we know all the bumps and all the turns.
We’ve been building transmission sensors for over 20 years, combining our know-how in materials, electromagnetics and electronics to produce a full range of products offering proven reliability under the most severe conditions. And today, we continue innovating, working closely with car manufacturers and OEMs around the world.
LVDT sensor solutions drive auto innovation
To do their job, electronic control units need reliable input data. That’s where Electricfil LVDT position sensors come in, opening the way for innovative electronic control solutions to enhance driving pleasure, safety and performance while reducing fuel consumption, emissions and cost.
Linear Variable Differential Transformers (LVDT) offer high sensing performance and reliability. Add Electricfil’s own ASIC and extensive knowhow in packaging, connections and magnetic circuits, and you get optimum LVDT sensing solutions for your most demanding transmission, clutch, engine and chassis applications.
Electricfil supplies LVDT sensors as individual components or integrated in sensor clusters or mechatronic modules. And remember, for other position sensing needs, Electricfil also offers Hall-effect and soon Eddy-Current solutions.
Whatever the transmission technology employed, you can count on us for sensor solutions that fit your needs.

www.konzelmann-gmbh.de
The main field of application for Konzelmann GmbH is in product applications with
complicated
geometrical shapes, where technically high-quality plastics and highperformance
polymers are
involved. The requirements on a component part are
analyzed technically and are realized with
respect to material, as well as manufacture.
This type of network intelligence forms the basis for satisfying complex requirements
target-oriented, with low-cost and with the highest level of product quality. The core
competence of Konzelmann GmbH is clearly in the problem solution of complex, highly
integrated product developments.
In particular, those applications, which are tribologically demanding with productspecific
test-stand investigations, are also offered to the customer with optimal practical
operational testing to include theoretical considerations and calculations. The knowledge
gained is integrated directly into further product development. The correct combination
of material, surface, geometry and lubricant is of vital importance. State of the art IT
technologies, such as EDI, CAQ, ERP, PM and interfaces to CAD systems also complete
the basis for successful and efficient cooperation.
